UFC 269: OLIVEIRA VS POIRIER | 6th Round Post-Fight Show

The UFC showcased Brazilian submission artist, Charles Oliveira, making his 1st defense of the UFC LW title against the former Interim LW Champion Dustin Poirier. Oliveira, the #8 ranked LW, holds a 31-8 record, multiple UFC records: most sub wins at 14, & most finishes at 17, as well as 2nd-most performance bonuses. Meanwhile, Poirier, the #1 ranked fighter with a 28-6 record, was ready to swipe the belt from ‘Do Bronx’ by any means necessary.

Meanwhile, the co-main event featured our 2nd title fight as UFC LW & BW Champion Amanda Nunes put her BW crown on the line against Julianna Peña. Nunes was the 1st & only fighter to defend 2 UFC titles while holding both. At #1 in the women’s P4P rankings, she is widely regarded as the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time.

Peña was a challenger who had no intention of leaving without that BW crown. Julianna, the 1st women’s TUF winner, ranked #11 in the women’s P4P rankings, was a heavy “no chance” underdog coming into this battle, with a mere 10-4 record under her belt.

Overall, this now 14-bout card saw 5 1st Rd finishes, 5 KO/TKO’s, 3 subs, & 5 decisions, 1 split. Rounding things out, a generous abundance of bonuses were handed out for putting forth POTN efforts.
