The MMA Depressed-us 72: Holiday Film Tradition | Antidote (2018) Watch Party Starring Randy Couture

More time off for the #UFC means more time on for the MMA Depressed-us. Each year, when the world’s largest #MMA promotion takes a little time away from their breakneck schedule for the holidays, we like to take a little break from our own schedule of watching the best of the worst fights we can find.

Instead, we like to take this time to remember that there’s so much more to life than just bagging on bad fights. There are lots of bad movies starring fighters that we can make fun of too.

Few men have provided more joy in that arena than a former multiple-time UFC champion and MMA legend: Randy 'The Natural' Couture. Starting his film career out with respectable projects like 'Redbelt' and 'The Expendables' Franchise, #Couture has quickly made the seemingly fulltime move to direct-to-video, Z-level action movies. We’ve pulled up one of his latest gems, 'Antidote'(2018), co-starring (occasionally featuring) his wife, Mindy Robinson, and with a whole heaping portion of Chuck Zito on the side.

Dispatched to a village plagued by a deadly disease, an altruistic doctor, Anna (Natali Yura) and her fiancé, Manuel (Rafael de la Fuente) work tirelessly to relieve the suffering of the villagers. They soon come to learn that the villagers believe the 'White Witch' brought the deadly disease. To save themselves and the village, Anna and Manuel are forced to team up with Victor (Randy Couture, THE EXPENDABLES 3) a cocky treasure hunter, who only wants to find the 'Lost City of Gold'. The trio realize that the White Witch and the Golden City are viciously interconnected and that they must join forces to uncover the Mayan legend of the White Witch to have any hope of surviving. Also starring Chuck Zito, Wil Travel (“Jessica Jones”) and Mindy Robinson (aka: Mrs. Randy Couture).
